Being allowed to be children and play on their own terms contributes in many ways to both stronger self-confidence and self-esteem. Help us save Water

We are delighted that Gotland has the great honor of welcoming guests to the island for much of the year. Due to dry spring and summer months, groundwater levels have fallen significantly in recent years. Water is a limited resource that we all need to conserve. This is especially true during the summer, when consumption is high and rainfall is low.

At Kneippbyn, we have invested in water-saving shower heads, bathroom taps, and kitchen taps in our various accommodations and service buildings. We know that the smaller amount of water results in lower pressure, but the effect is significant.

Our pools are a closed-loop system where the water is constantly purified and reused. When we fill our pools each year, we use rainwater that has been collected in our own pond throughout the year. The water is then purified to a pleasant Water swimming. We also clean the facility using 100% eco-labeled products.

In recent years, Vattenland's green areas have also been replaced with artificial turf to eliminate the need for artificial irrigation.

We need your help in our efforts to protect this limited resource. Here are a few simple steps that can make a big difference:

*Shower a little shorter and don't let the water run while soaping up, for example. Showering a little later in the evening also helps.

*Don't let the water run while brushing your teeth or shaving.

*Use the small button when flushing the toilet.

Energy

Our season consumes a significant amount of energy. As we have a large facility in terms of the various areas of operation: amusement parks, accommodation, and restaurants, it is an exciting challenge to continuously reduce our energy consumption. Among other things, we have replaced all the lights at the resort with LED lighting.

We are gradually expanding our solar cell capacity. Energy-intensive equipment such as washing machines, dishwashers, and air conditioning systems are continuously being replaced with the most energy-efficient alternatives. We measure our consumption in real time to ensure minimal energy leakage.

Travel

A short trip far away is part of Gotland's slogan. We are well aware that regardless of whether you choose the ferry or the plane, the journey has an impact on the climate. Both airline and ferry operators are actively working to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions. Among other things, Destination Gotland has set a goal of ensuring a fossil-free crossing by 2045.

Once you arrive on the island, we recommend renting bicycles. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it is also a very convenient way to experience Gotland and Visby. The local bus is also a good option, with frequent service to the island's towns and beaches.

Restaurant

Food is a central part of our business. We try to use both local and certified organic ingredients as much as possible. We always serve a variety of dishes, and of course there are both vegetarian and vegan options available.

Making the most of food is important to us. Every day, we use the ingredients that have not been used to prepare other dishes. We weigh our compost daily to continuously ensure minimal food waste. Of course, we want you to eat well and as much as you can, but please take a reasonable amount on your plate. In recent years, we have drastically reduced the use of disposable items in the parks. In cases where they are necessary, they are 100% recyclable.

Recycling

With 50,000 guest nights and around 80,000 guests in our parks, it is natural that a lot of waste is generated. We are continuously investing in expanding our sorting capabilities. As our guest, you can help us in our work. Sorting facilities are available both in your accommodation and at our environmental stations. In 2021–2022, we reduced our combustible waste by 22 percent.

Employees

We aim to be a workplace that enables sustainable employees. Our wonderful team includes employees from several countries and of different ages. With us, you should be able to grow, whether you have a career within the company or at another destination. During our season, the workforce multiplies, and for many of our stars, it is their first summer job.

We believe that the best ideas come when we feel good and have fun together. That's why we actively work with both our Feel Good Package and what we call the Fun Factor.

Everyone is welcome here. For those with disabilities, there are several activities at both Summer and Waterland. Toilets and our restaurants are of course also accessible. Companions can accompany guests free of charge.
