Kneippbyn is awarded the Tourism Industry’s Honorary Award for 2026

At the Tourism Industry Day, Kneippbyn Resort and the Werkelin family were awarded the 2026 Honorary Award for their contributions to the tourism industry on Gotland over the past half-century.

Reason for the 2026 Honorary Award: 

“As Gotland has developed into a tourist destination, the Werkelin family has been one of the most influential forces behind this journey. Through Kneippbyn, they have created a place where generations of visitors come together, with the sea as a backdrop and the experience at the heart of it all.”

Developing a facility over the course of decades from a health resort into one of Gotland’s most popular tourist destinations requires courage, perseverance, and a willingness to think outside the box.

"Kneippbyn is a cornerstone of Gotland's tourism industry. The family's life's work has shaped the island's appeal and left a mark far beyond its immediate surroundings."
