For almost 50 years, the Werkelin family, in various constellations, has owned, developed, and operated Kneippbyn, which is now one of the country's leading resorts. Want to know more about our journey filled with summer memories?
Kneippbyn's employees are our most important resource and asset. We treat each other and our guests with the same Gotland warmth and consideration that has characterized Kneippbyn for generations.
We believe in a workplace with many different types of employees—it is their diversity that gives our guests unforgettable summer memories.
It goes without saying that Kneippbyn should be a safe and secure workplace where we work systematically and preventively to minimize accidents.
We have 16 year-round employees, and in the summer we grow to 240 seasonal employees. Our youngest employee in the summer of 2025 was 14 years old and our oldest was 72.
Every year, around 85,000 guests come to have fun with us. Each guest is unique, and we fulfill dreams and want to create memories that will remain long after they have left the park.
The safety of our guests is our top priority. Our attractions are inspected annually by a licensed, independent operator. Thorough safety checks are carried out daily and all employees are trained. Please do not hesitate to ask us any questions.
Applications for the summer season usually open in December. We start accepting applications early so that we can ensure we have the right staff in place for the high season. See our careers page for current openings and application periods.

We have lots of different fun jobs – from attractions, shops, restaurants, and cafés to accommodation, maintenance, service, and parks.
Think about what you enjoy doing and what you want to develop. Do you like being the "face" of the company, meeting people, and spreading joy? Then you're a perfect fit for our guest-facing roles. Do you want everything to run smoothly behind the scenes? Then housekeeping might be the best fit for you.
All our jobs are important – it is together that we create that magical summer feeling for our guests.
Our salaries vary depending on position, responsibilities, and age. We follow collective agreements and always disclose salary information in connection with employment.
For some of our seasonal employees who come from the mainland, we are able to offer staff accommodation right next to Kneippbyn's Summer Waterland. It is always an advantage if you already have accommodation on Gotland. Here you will live together with other colleagues close to work, the sea, and all the fun things happening in the area.
The accommodation is simple and standard, and we work every year to make it even better.
For certain roles, we invite candidates to a group interview. These are usually relaxed and informal, giving you the chance to show who you are and how you think in different situations. We want to see how you work in a team, as the whole of Kneippbyn is based on team spirit and enjoyment.
Think less "interview" and more "meet us and see if we're a good fit for each other."
Before the season starts, we hold an orientation day for all employees.
You’ll learn about guest interactions, safety, procedures, and our culture, as well as how we work together to create magical worlds for unforgettable summer memories.
During the season, you’ll receive support from your department and have the opportunity to grow in your role.
During the summer, we have about 240 employees who together manage everything from attractions and accommodations to food, maintenance, and the park.
During the winter, we have around 16 people who work year-round.
This means you’ll become part of a big family where everyone greets everyone else—regardless of your role or department.
You apply for the job via our website.
We review all applications and select candidates for interviews.
The interview takes place digitally, by telephone or on site, and sometimes in groups.
We will contact you afterwards with a decision and, if applicable, an employment contract.
When everything is ready, you will receive an invitation to our pre-season introduction.
We try to stay in touch throughout the process so you know what's happening, and we're counting down the hours until we open for the season and it's time to get to work.

Every year, around 60% of our employees return – some have been with us for several seasons.
We think that says a lot about the community, the job satisfaction and the feeling that Kneippbyn really is "home in the summer".
